I am a certified public acountant and i want to learn about programming. what field particularly should I study? SQL/visual basics/ Java. anything for systems analyst/ database management… any idea?
This is literally melting my brain. here are some examples im having trouble grasping…
“A 1:N recursive relationship. An employee supervises a number of other employees, an employee is supervised by another employee”
“An N:M recursive relationship. A person is the cousin of a number of other people, a person is the cousin to a number of people.”
Can anyone please help explain these examples to me, as i don’t really understand them. Thanks
I’m looking to write code to store the contents of a Sybase database as XML. Basically I’d want to copy various rows from various tables in a database into an XML format I can then save as a file. I’ll also write code that takes the XML and inserts the data based on those tables back into the database.
Does anybody know of any open source (preferably Java based) utilities that do this?
I have an MS in Information Technology (with coursework in data warehousing and information system development). I often see jobs looking for applicants that have a degree in “computer science or related field”. What fields are “related” to computer science? Is my degree close enough to be considered related?
