How can an experienced telecom cabler get an ACA license in Australia?

Im an experienced telecom cabler from New Zealand and I want to get an ACA license in Australia. To get a job in Australia, a telecom cabler must have an ACA license to become eligible to apply. My search so far in the net told me to study first and take an assessment. Must be another way to get the license for those who have the experience in the job.
you can go search for a place that you want to work in aussie, then ask the manager if they would hire you, without having to get an ACA.
