I have a cisco 3550 switch with 10 copper gbic ports that is not passing data between the ports. All link lights are lit, so the links are up, but they appear not to be passing data. for instance one of my Win 2003 servers running DHCP server is connected to one of the gbic cards, another goes to a catalyst switch with two workstations connected to it. The two workstations can ping each other, but even when set with static IP adresses, they can not ping the server on the other interface of the 3550. Any help? Save my @$$ here. Thanks.
It turned out that one of the techs had fixed some of the ports that had been set to trunk ports back in January. He made the changes to the running config, but did not save it to the startup config. When we unplugged this guy to replace his UPS it started up with the defective config. Thx for the help.
